A funfair of freaks, a town of ordinary folks. Or a funfair of freedom and a town of folks stuck in their own set lives? Wonderfully weird, crass and revealing with an almost casual intense darkness in a Scottish accent. There's never a dull moment from the vivacious energy and aesthetic of the funfair, the in/voluntary truths forced out of ordinary folk to the manifeston of current and past anger. The way the author brings the funfair and it's characters to live is sublime and unique, this is definitely a book to go into and just let it take you on the rollercoaster journey that is this book.
