I seem to remember enjoying Middlesex. But this one, not so much. There was really nothing to love about any of the characters. And i'm not sure I really felt sorry for them either. In fact, I didn't identify with them in any manner at all. It's a rarity that I skip ahead and read the ending to see how it turns out, but this one I did... I just couldn't continue reading it.
