Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne are very fun rock star protagonists to spend some time with. They are difficult, addicts, and they deeply care about the music when inspiration strikes. It’s impressive that Jankins Reid can put you in their shoes when they are the biggest rock stars in the world and help you understand that very particular thrill. I didn’t really need the meta element at the end of the book and I forgot that the plot was supposed to be centered around the breakup of the band for most of it. I got used to the interview style of the book quicker than I thought I would, and it was an interesting way to achieve multiple first person past tense perspectives for the duration of the novel
