The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielsen
5.0

Great story! I think this trilogy is going to be a HUGE hit with kids, especially boys. The story centers around an orphan boy named Sage who is given 2 weeks to train to impersonate the long lost prince of Carthya. His master, Conner, served under the king and gathers a bunch of boys from local orphanages who resemble the lost prince in hopes that one of them will be able to pull off his grand scheme.

Full of action and plot twists (Sage has a few secrets, as does Conner)! Great characterization and narration by the main character. He's a complex character and for me at least it took me the entire book to decide how I truly felt about him. This one's a page turner and I'd highly recommend it for grades 5-8, especially boys, though I think girls will like this one too.
