Mary was absolutely psychotic in this book and I love that but... There was nothing psychotic going on. I mean apart from the whole creepy stalker thing, nothing really happened. I wanted bloodshed and destruction so I could really get involved in the story.
The ending was kind of shitty to be frank. It was rushed, there was an instant personality change and there was no action or anything to put me on the edge. It was just rushed and that was disappointing.
But the loom of Mary on the island was interesting, even if I wanted her to play with their heads a little more. So maybe the entire content of the book was lacking the brutality the second book had.
It's sad that this trilogy had a crappy ending because it was a fantastic series. Though I am still interested in Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian and I hope they collaborate together again. I'm impressed with them being able to incorporate a paranormal aspect into a contemporary after becoming known for their classic summer reads.
