Getting Dirty by Erin Nicholas

4.0

Getting Dirty by Erin Nicholas is the third book in the Sapphire Falls series. Lauren doesn't want to fall in love with Sapphire Falls. She does not want to settle down and doesn't want to give up her luxurious life in the city. Her best change to achieve this goal is to ask Travis, a farmer, to show her what life she might have in Sapphire Falls. Both can't really stand each other, but they are also attracted to each other.

When I first read about Lauren, I was not quite sure if I liked her. She was against a relationship between her best friend Mason and Adrianne, just because she wanted him for herself. But fortunately, her view changed. I really like her personality. She is very outspoken and shows and tells others what she wants. Travis is in many ways the total opposite of her. He loves his town, doesn't like the city and would give anything for a routine. He plays a dumb farmer in front of Lauren to support her view of farmers. And Lauren does anything to annoy him. I actually really like their chemistry. They complement each other very well.

But with Lauren's sexuality, this book really missed an opportunity! How amazing would it have been to have a relationship between two ladies in this book! I would have loved this! Having queer characters in such romance books is rarely the case. So having Lauren was already very thrilling. But I am very sorry that she did not get a girlfriend in this book. That would have been so amazing!

I enjoyed the third book in the series as well. I already feel like home in Sapphire Falls and I can't wait to keep on reading.
