I absolutely adored this book. Not only is it filled with love and hope, but it’s just so uplifting and funny. Each character was so endearing and lively, and they all got along so well with one another. I loved Gene and Luis so much.
The romance was top-tier. Luis was open about exploring things with Gene, and they were super cute together. I also loved that Gene was the first trans man to attempt to go pro at baseball and fall in love along the way. Authors that emphasise that anyone can participate in sport regardless of age, sexual orientation, height, disability, or other factors are very appreciated, because I believe that there is a great deal of discrimination and poor mental health among trans athletes in today's trans community.
