Lady Midnight is now my favourite Shadowhunter book. The world has already been established in the other books, so you could dive right in already knowing how the world worked. I loved Emma, Christina and the Blackthorns. I've never really lived with my siblings so I don't have that family bonding experience, but the Blackthorn family just made me really happy.
I loved being able to see the connections to the other books and squealed every time a character from a past book showed up. Learning about the parabatai bond and why it's forbidden is really interesting. I laughed, I cried, I had to put the book down and process things I had just read; and I can't wait for book 2!
Also, the TMI short story at the end of my copy made me really happy! :)
