The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife Vol. 1 by IWATOBINEKO
5.0
Yakou Shizuka lives a quiet but fulfilling life.
She works as an administrative assistant for a detective agency, answering phones and setting up meetings.
Her boss, Tounome, is a kind man who is well suited for this work—being that he is an invisible man. Great ability for going undercover.
It doesn’t work, however, with Yakou. Being blind, Yakou’s other senses are sensitive and adept at detecting when others are near, invisible or not.
Yakou can always “see” Tounome.
Charmed, Tounome asks Yakou out on a date, hoping to get to know this lovely and kern woman better.
Along the way, will this unlikely pair just so happen to fall in love?
AGJIFVLLHJG I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!
This is such a delightful and sweet story with such a wholesome premise and such a tender storyline.
This story does such a careful job of not only fleshing out the urban fantasy elements but, also, of weaving in commentary and discussion on disability and inter-able relationships. I appreciate how we learn about Yakou’s experience of the world along with Tounome as the two become more comfortable with each other.
I think it’s also interesting to see how disability is treated in a fantasy setting. You don’t often see characters with disabilities depicted as the main characters in these stories.
That said, I also really enjoy the supporting characters in this series. There’s such a wide array of unique characters who span all different sorts of life circumstances. It’s a delightfully diverse cast.
Suffice to say, I absolutely adore everything about this series so far! I’m definitely looking forward to reading more!
This is a great choice for fans of A Sign of Affection or In/spectre~
