This was ok. I liked the book for what it's about - men and masculinity in different forms. Told through three men's perspectives. But I found that since so much of the book is told through jumping back in time and telling stories from the past, I was less engaged. I wanted the present story to move forward more, I wanted something to happen. And I kept finding myself confused about when we were in the past and when we were in the present. The writing just slips straight through from one to the next. That added to my impatience and frustration. But I can appreciate the writing is beautiful even as the timelines can be confusing. The way feelings are described is beautiful.
Definitely worth a read but I was eager to finish it myself.
