 An enchanting, magical read that made me feel like a little girl curled up in a blanket listening to my dad telling me a bedtime story. The author marketed this book as Jane Astuen meets early Barbie movies and honestly, I don't know what it is about it but it's precisely that! The writing is beautiful and reads just like a fairytale. The plot is fairly simple without many surprises yet it doesn't feel overdone. I found the magic system and world-building fascinating and can't wait to find out more about it. I'm definitely going to continue on with the series and can't wait to learn more about the characters (especially Narcissa).
