The grunting, the rasping, the slow boring travel.
Idk what it is but zombie books also aren’t really my jam, though this is holding me more than Charon Docks did. But it’s survival-based. And descriptions of fight sequences or moves that I really can’t visualize unless I reread the actions over and over and I won’t. Also, Saff grunts and rasps a lot. It’s excessive and I’m over it. I like the dynamic of the hardened woman guiding a visually impaired love interest who can do quite a bit on her own. Cool! Saff was a raider with her dad, and blind girl’s community was raided. They’re going to finally find blind girl’s people and they’re going to be like, this girl you have feelings for totally raided us. I’d be surprised if that’s not how it goes.
