The Wife App by Carolyn Mackler
4.0
I went into this book totally blind and I was pleasantly surprised by how seen I felt by this book. The Wife App is the story of three friends who created an app to help women (and men) take away the burden of the mental load that comes with having a family, a job and just life in general. I’ve been a wife and a mom for over a decade and I can tell you there are some days that are harder than others and any little bit of help helps tremendously.
I empathized with each of our three MCs and the various stages and struggles they were going through. While the app idea started as a joke it turned into a reality and it gave each of them something they didn’t know they truly needed. Whether it was financial security, a new purpose or reclaiming a part of themselves it opened the door to a new future.
I think this is definitely a fun read for anyone who’s married (or been married) or a parent or just someone bogged down by the mental load.
Thank you @simonbooks and @netgalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest feedback.
