Bones to Ashes by Kathy Reichs
2.0
Whilst this was a quick read that I somewhat enjoyed, I still find myself wondering why I continue to pick up this series. The over explanation of the forensics and anthropology in this book would be interesting (especially to someone like me, studying forensics/psych/criminology), but it is over-explained in such a niche way that really takes you away from the story. There are far too many things going on in the plot, making it sometimes hard to follow, with too many dead bodies who seem only surface level relevant to the plot. The fact that a good portion of this book has parts translated to French was frustrating and I skimmed a lot of those passages. The actual plot was not too bad - but I just don't think I appreciate the characters and might go elsewhere to get my criminology fix.
