Beautifully Broken Control
by Catherine Cowles
This was quite a different read.
Cain was an unusual male lead ( sorry, it just feels weird to call any of the men in these books - not just Catherine Cowles - I literally mean to call any of them 'heroes'... apart from Chace Keaton ) in as much as he is incredibly vulnerable... it found this trait to be very different to what I had expected from his brief cameos in previous books. And quite appealing. I loved Kennedy's jars...
The villains of the piece were not unexpected in a very Jessica Fletcher kind of way.
All in all a pleasant read with a few healthy tugs on the heartstrings...
Although... I do feel shortchanged on the epilogue... I mean, c'mon... it was the last in the series... I wanted more!!!
Oh... and I don't think I would ever want to live in Sutter Lake... way way too dangerous for me, I think I would be safer in Midsomer...
