Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
5.0
{Fall 2019}
" 'What you are is a fucking tragedy, Simon Snow. You literally couldn't be a bigger mess.' (...)
'And you like that?'
'I love it,' he says.
'Why?'
'Because we match.'"
It's still there. All the magic, all the swoon-worthy swashbuckling romance and above all, Basilton and Simon and Penny and the fantasy that reads like a contemporary. I'm so glad to be back. I feel so full. Wayward Son will be dessert.
{Spring 2016}
"You were the sun, and I was crashing into you. I'd wake up every morning and think,
'This will end in flames'. "
This book was absolutely magical in every sense of the word... so much more than what I was expecting and so expertly constructed that it took my breath away. A favorite this year, for sure.
These characters and this story will stay with me for such an incredibly long time. Such an epic tale of fantasy, friendship and love.
Crowley, what a fantastic, dragon-slaying book.
