I received a digital copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
The main reason I requested this book on NetGalley was because of the Woman in White in the blurb. Now Woman in White is a an enduring legend about a woman who has suffered tragic loss of her children and is now haunting the same place where she lost her life or where she wants revenge (Those of you familiar with Supernatural - American Drama would remember this as the first episode of the first season of this wonderful serial :D)

Amelia Dupree has lost her brother, a brother she adored but a brother believed she killed. Now, she and her family lived next to Mrs. McAllisters, who is considered to be a witch and her family cursed. Interesting right?
You are quite right. It really is interesting.
Amelia is an interesting protagonist. The story is told in her POV, and yet she still remains an enigma. Her emotions are definitely all over the place. Understandably of course, she has had her life turned upside down and yet has no idea how much more she will have to go through.
She has everything everything going for her. A good enough grades, a wonderful boyfriend (supposedly!) and a family that loves her. All that changes on one single night.
Her brother Michael was obsessed with the Woman in White, a ghost that was usually seen in the woods near her house. Compounded with this fact, is that she lives near a supposed witch, her paranormal needs are all met :D
The Woman in White has not been seen since the night of the accident that took away Amelia's brother, yet the day before Charlie Blue, her Witch neighbor's grandson arrives in town, she catches a glimpse of her.
First thing you need to know that the cover of this book, basically misleading piece of beautiful art. I have a feeling that the artist, wasn't given any indication as to what the story is all about. And that my dear was a brilliant strategy.
You look at this book and you read the blurb. You get the idea that while it shows hints of horror and paranormal, it will be this fluffy YA Read that will only focus on the horror. WRONG!! YOU WILL BE PROVEN WRONG!

"Do you like sounding like Hermoine Granger?"
Now, Charlie is an absolutely adorable guy. In fact, he is exactly the kind of geeky guy I could fall for head over heels. Case in point - the Hermoine reference. Any guy who can make Harry Potter reference of the top of the hat, as a reflex has my stamp of approval :D
Even if you want to ignore that (How can you?), Charlie got Amelia back to the land of living. He gave her the acceptance and the support she needed, especially when most would have considered getting her checked by a psychiatrist rather than humoring her. and that earned my respect and my unwavering loyalty.
When you couple these tendencies with the fact he didn't bat an eye even when a ghost was mentioned nor when magic was introduced, he did become quite a perfect fictional boyfriend.
"That's the thing about secrets. You don't have to tell them to anyone.
On the contrary. The best secrets are the ones you share with someone else."
The story itself is absolutely worth the read. While the focus isn't much on character development (because lets face it they are teenagers.), the plot itself is pretty much perfect. The reference to the European history, the legend of Woman in White all were so inexplicably tied that for a moment I actually felt as if that it was the real history instead of fictional one and that's exactly where this book wins points from me.
Do not forget that this book in it's essence horrifying and that is why the ending was the most brilliant ever. Yes, there were times that this story felt predictable but it's the author's skill that makes even the predictability seem enjoyable and it is here that Ms. Perinovic succeeds brilliantly.
I look forward to the next installment with one eye open as to what more havoc will the Woman in Whit would wreck on the world.
