Shorefall by Robert Jackson Bennett

5.0

Shorefall is the second book in the Founders Trilogy by Robert Jackson Bennett.

It took me around a hundred pages to get into this novel but after that I was absolutely hooked and couldn't put it down. I think this was due to the length of time I left between reading Foundryside, I found it difficult to remember who the characters were and what happened in the previous instalment. Once I was past that point the plot took off at breakneck speed and doesn't let you up for breath until it is done. Although Shorefall is a plot driven rather than character driven I absolutely adore all of Robert Jackson Bennett's characters it is enjoyable to read a novel so well-rounded in both areas. Since Foundryside was heavy in world-building there wasn't any background left to build so I could just relax and enjoy where this book took me. Although I probably wouldn't describe it as relaxing because this book is very STRESSFUL. I can't wait for the conclusion of this series but I am also v frightened of what lies within the pages of Locklands.
