The Gender Game by Bella Forrest
5.0

This book has gotten me back into reading. I have missed it so much but my life has been so hetic that I just haven't made time for it but as I grew to love this book I made sure I kept time to read it. Granted, it did take a couple weeks to really get into it and to enjoy it but once i got past the "explanation" phase I really started to love it.

I do love the similarities to The Hunger Games. After all this is why I decided to buy the book and try it. Even though it is similar it's not the same book at all. The characters are different, the style is different, the philosophies and ideas are also different. I liked The Hunger Games because it made me think and empathise with the characters, and so did this book. I love it when a book can make me feel and think without me being conscious of this fact. I will admit that I did get tired after reading it as I was reading it so in depth as I was so wholly invested into the story. This also made me feel like I was actually living it which is actually a bit freaky now I think about it?

I have no idea what I'm going to read next but I know it won't be half as good as this book. I will definitely be buying the next books in the series and possibly some of Thorne's other books too.

The only downside I have with this book is that it is on the larger and heavier side so it was more difficult to carry around (but I still managed) and also it takes up more space on my bookshelf.
