A disturbing dark and unusual story, full of gore and horror but not without humour.
The pacing was off for me, with a good beginning hook, that slowed to a crawl before a white-water rafting escalation of suspense and terror for the final quarter!
I’m still not sure what to make of the ending. I think this book will keep me pondering and musing for some time. What really was “real”? What was metaphor?
The book was very original, the characters vivid. A good read, just wished the slower quarter to half had been edited down a little to pick up the pace.
