This is honestly the worst book i've read in years. I'm a horror fan, misandrist and queer so i thought this would hit all the marks for me but it didn't hit any. this might be the most brutal review i'll ever post but this author should not write anymore books. the writing style is horrible. it honestly reminds me of a middle schooler. i can usually look past horrible writing if the story is good but the story was clumsy and all over the place. the dual pov of the two main characters was so confusing and clumsy and then midway through the book, the author added MORE povs. it became atrocious to read. and none of them really are aligned with each other well enough to care or exciting enough to wanna get back to the other persons POV. again, the writing is just horrible. there's em dashes where there should be periods and commas missing and constant run on sentences. it also really irked me that the author kept writing "the other girl" when referring to a different character. it was enough to drive me mad because it was so repetitive and just showed how awful the writing was.
oh but my absolute LEAST favorite part of the book was the fact that the author made all the characters talk the same! there was literally no difference in their speech. everyone had the same exact rough, dry, short talking style. it made it insanely hard to follow who was saying what. none of the characters felt well rounded and i just found myself constantly confused trying to follow who we were even reading about and bored.
there's also tons of smut which would be fine if the rest of the book was good but it wasn't. the author put more effort and creativeness in the smut scenes than in any other part of the book combined.
this book just read so whinny and honestly very misogynistic. support trans authors and trans stories but this book is just garbage.
