Did not finish book. Stopped at 54%.
gave up a little over halfway through 😂 I just couldn’t do it. interesting concept but it felt so shallowly executed, like all the horror elements felt underwhelming. Especially since it seemed like you were supposed to be confused as to what was going on, I wanted more suspense and creepy stuff to drive the story forward, but the monsters or whatever following Misha did not do it for me 😂
The commentary on Hollywood and the ongoing censorship of queer rep (particularly by streaming platforms) is relevant but it was so pointed, it just felt like the author didn’t trust us to make these conclusions, and gave the audience the commentary directly, which combined with the underwhelming plot I had to DNF
