Flavor combines a food comic with a hunger games like dystopian world where there is something lurking outside the community's grounds, and only a select few will ever know of said things existence.
A young girl cooks in her family's restaurant, while she is not trained, or licensed, she has to do it in order to pay their way--her parents are injured and she is the only one in the family who can work. Until her uncle comes into town and signs her up for the cooking competition.
The stakes are high, the money used to pay for the competition completely bankrupts the family.
Will she be able to handle the pressure, or are she and her family out the money forever?
