I love the Ward family, but this book was not my favorite. There was a fairly consistent feeling of distance and discouragement- for both of them personally, and in their relationship with each other. The story began with some really good chemistry between the two of them but, as time went on, they just seemed to get more and more distant. It left me with a sense of hopelessness at times, like they weren't even gonna try to make things work. Thank goodness it ended the way it did, finally feeling more like Ward Family story! There was enough goodness, both at the beginning and at the end, for me to rate this with 3.5 stars.
