This was my first time reading something by Charlotte Wood. I like her writing style, not too heavy but still quite literary. 

Having lived in rural Australia for the last 4 years, and with how candidly she represented the events and experiences within the book, I got a lot out of the (unnamed) protagonist's experiences.
