I really wanted to love this book, and parts of it are quite beautiful and powerful, but in the end it just felt a bit uneven. There was a lot that I loved about the story and the writing, but there was seemingly an equal amount that just seemed flat and predictable. This is one of those cases where I would rate it closer to a 4 than a 3. Would definitely recommend it, to anyone who might be interested, your mileage may vary from mine. And it made me curious to check out more of Adichie's work.
