I loved this book so so SO MUCH! Dare I say I loved it even more than I loved the first book. This has definitely become one of my fav series of all time and I cannot wait to read the next installment. Craig’s writing is just so captivating and her twists and turns in the story always leave me shocked and gasping aloud as I read. From the very beginning to the end of the book, I was so invested and captivated by the story. Her writing only becomes better and better with each book that she writes. I have now read everything by Craig and will continue to read every single word that she writes going forward.
I also just loved the character development we got with Verity. It was so cool to see some nods to the first book and to see the little girl that we fell in love with during House of Salt and Sorrows grow up and become the woman she is in her own story. It was so intriguing to see how her past has affected her in the present and her relationships with her sisters as well.I think the best part was seeing the growth of her relationship with Camille.
Craig does such an amazing job at utilizing every character in the story. No character is simply there, they all have a purpose and add to the plot by the end! This helped me to always be kept on my toes and not see any of the major twists and turns coming. I was not expecting the final reveal at all!
Everything in this book was amazing. The horror, the suspense, the mystery, the twists, the gothic elements. I loved it so much and cannot rave enough about this series. I rate this book 5/5 stars! 🌟
