To be completely honest, I don't know anything about Hayley Kiyoko or her songs, and I picked this book up because it took place in my home state.
Despite this, I enjoyed it for being a fairly fast-paced, and at times light-hearted sapphic romance.
However, I have mixed feelings overall. I'm 26, so maybe I just can't relate to the young adult aspect of this book, but I felt like a lot of relationships in this book were very toxic. I'm not convinced Sonya deserved a second chance and I was ultimately disappointed that Coley gave it to her despite initially saying no, she needs to work on herself first.
I'm also totally over the "pretty girl" sapphic books. I need to find more sapphic reads that don't focus so much on femme discovering they like girls trope
