Mindhunter: Inside the Fbi's Elite Serial Crime Unit by John E. Douglas, Mark Olshaker
2.75
dark informative sad tense medium-paced

This book was interesting and informative. I liked the TV show and used to watch Criminal Minds, and Law & Order: SVU, so it was interesting to read about the history of profiling which influenced those shows. It was kind of hard to read the details about the crimes at times.
His tone in parts and his takes on the death penalty were off-putting. He directly advocates for the death penalty numerous times throughout the book. I can understand why he holds those beliefs in light of his work. But it comes across as preachy when it pops up. I also still believe the system is too corrupt to trust that innocent people wouldn’t be executed sometimes. They would have to overhaul the system so that only people who undoubtedly committed the crime would be executed.
