Sunset Reads: Damian & Layla by D.C. Triana

4.0

The author has a good command of language and is skilled at setting scenes without too much peripheral detail. The subplots are intriguing and believable. The tension between the main characters is strong. Layla doesn't want to get her heart broken again, and Damian's job makes it difficult for him to commit to anyone. There is a good mix of suspenseful spy thriller and classic romance. While I'm not a huge fan of the romance genre, generally speaking, this book held my attention. it was fast-paced and steamy.
