Rounding up from 4.5 to 5 stars. As someone with a “thriller mindset” I will say I had the culprit pegged from early on, but only because I know how Alex Michaelides brilliant mind works. If you’ve read The Silent Patient, you may find this one slower. Not because it’s lacking in story or substance, but because it’s setting the stage. The way that Michaelides expertly weaved Greek mythology, lore, and verse into this storyline absolutely baffles my mind. I loved that the passages on the postcards were kept in Greek originally. If you’ve read the Silent Patient, stick with this one. There’s some Easter eggs that I believe are setting the stage for what could be a series later on- you won’t be disappointed. *thrilling* twists that most readers will absolutely never see coming! Savor this book and pay attention to details. There’s no fluff here and if you think there is, you haven’t been paying close enough attention. 5 stars! Would read again, will recommend to everyone wholeheartedly! GET THIS BOOK!
