Mrs. Maas you have done it again. For context, I hated TOG#1. I liked ACOTAR (except the christmas book…..) & loved CC1 (2 was enjoyable and 3 was wayyy rushed.) The one thing I consistently like is how beautiful her worlds are described and the strong friendships. So I thought I’d give this series another chance. Wow did it change my mind. Even though I had hate read the spoilers that (and these spoilers include later books in the series btw)

Celaena is “Aelin”, didn’t know what that meant, Nehemia 😭 my girl dies, and that her love interest in the end is some guy named Rowan and not the two we’re presented with. <- this part made continuing more palatable for me, since you can tell from my TOG#1 review, I hated those bitches. They were a lot lot better in this book now tho!

Love how she handled these aspects. There’s the depth that I saw in her ACOTAR series and CC1&2 that I love. Way better than the flatness, girl hating, and weird abilities of the first book. I’m starting to see why ppl say to “stick with TOG until book 3”.

Love that Celaena’s Fae form is monstrous! Slightly! Love an unhinged badass haha. I like the twists behind Nehemia’s death, Archer’s betrayal, Dorian’s super powers lol. Hope Roland and Kaltain are alright.
