4.75

It's been a few months since I actually read the book, but I do remember thinking to myself when I first read it that I was going to give it 4.75 stars. The problem now is that I don't remember what exactly was wrong with it. I believe it had to do with Sybil. I quite enjoyed her in the first book, but this one showed me that I can only handle her in small doses.

Other than that, however, I really can't think of anything else I didn't enjoy about this book. I liked it slightly less than the first one, but the difference was miniscule. I was completely on edge throughout the first half of the book. The things Adeline went through were so horrific that I had to set the book down a few times to calm myself.
I absolutely loved seeing her get her revenge though. I'm not really a fan of smut (ironic, I know), but one scene that actually made me scream and giggle was when Zade made Adeline orgasm in front of her rapist right before she killed him. Iconic.

I probably shouldn't have waited so long to review this because this isn't as detailed as I usually like to be (I'm not even leaving content warnings like I usually do because I can't remember them all), but I do know that I was just left with the most intense sadness when I finished reading because I wanted more of Zade and Adeline. I am planning to read the duology again though because it's been on my mind for the past few weeks.
