The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling
3.0

Lovely writing, uneven story telling. The tales of the 'man-cub' Mowgli are gripping and filled with the best anthropomorphism I've ever encountered in literature. Others stories are lightly entertaining and whimsical.

Kipling using the animal kingdom to discuss and confront death. While there is much literary merit (and fun!) for adults, The Jungle Book is a perfect tool to help young readers learn hard life lessons.
