Missing White Woman by Kellye Garrett

3.0

Okay, not what I was expecting…I thought it would be more fast paced, but I feel like a lot of this was spent on the social media aspect and the main character kinda just watched things happen from the sidelines. I DID like seeing how social media platforms can unintentionally cause mayhem around murder/missing person events, sensationalizing these situations to get more views and likes for their own platforms and followers. It can really get performative and I thought the author did a good job highlighting that.
I just couldn’t relate to Breanna. She really loved this Ty dude?? He seemed like a jerk honestly, and Breanna being so pressed for him was where the relatability got lost for me.
Spoiler Because if my newly 3 month fling (not even knowing if he’s officially my bf yet!) went missing after I discovered a dead body in the AirBnB you better believe I’m immediately thinking it’s him!!
I didn’t see it all. And, because I didn’t like Ty I didn’t really care about his storyline. The overall lack of positive interactions with the few people Breanna had platonic relationships with made me lose interest pretty quickly in the story.
