"Love on the Highlight Reel," by Christina C. Jone’s is the second book in the Connecticut Kings series co-authored by  Love Belvin & CCJ brilliantly captures a tale of forbidden romance set in the exhilarating world of professional sports.

The series showcases an exceptional synergy between CCJ and Belvin, with CCJ seamlessly continuing the narrative started in the first installment. An impressive moment is her revisit of a scene from the first book, providing a fresh perspective that enriches the overall story—a true chef’s kiss moment.

The narrative centers on Jordan "The Flash" Johnson, a star wide receiver for the Connecticut Kings, and Nicole "Cole" Richardson, the assistant director of player success. Their relationship is complicated by professional boundaries and their shared past, creating intense tension. Cole, tasked with contract negotiations and keeping players like Jordan out of trouble, finds their rekindled romance both risky and compelling.

CCJ skillfully immerses readers in the emotional landscapes of her characters. We closely experience Jordan’s frustrations and aspirations, as well as Cole’s concerns about media portrayal. The contrast between Jordan’s desire for openness and Cole’s insistence on secrecy introduces a compelling dynamic that explores the complexities of public romance.

Through fluid writing and sharp dialogue, CCJ not only engages her audience but also explores themes of power, privacy, and professional ethics in sports. "Love on the Highlight Reel" is a poignant exploration of how love can both challenge and fulfill our deepest ambitions.
