It's OK That You're Not OK: Meeting Grief and Loss in a Culture That Doesn't Understand by Megan Devine

informative reflective medium-paced

4.5

As someone who needs to know what is about to happen and who needs to be in control, I benefited loads from this book in my early grief. Being aware of what behaviors are possible and that what I was experiencing was not abnormal but rather the expected consequence of my grief has helped me live through this moment in my life with more ease and care for myself.
As grieving is an individual process, I did not identify with everything the book says we can expect - from ourselves and others. Still, having a friendly, understanding voice in my ear was helpful.
