Crooked House by Agatha Christie

4.0

I finished this book at 4:47 AM last night and it was such a holy shit moment for me. I remember being mandated to read "And Then There Were None" (probably the most famous if not one of the most famous of Agatha Christie's works) for summer reading in middle school and I ended up really enjoying the story. Then I also read "Murder on the Orient Express" a few years ago and loved that too. I love romance, but I was in the mood for a mystery. I chose to find something Agatha Christie this didn't disappoint!

This is the third Agatha Christie book I've read and I loved it!! It kept me interested and she's so good at making multiple characters seem possibly suspicious that you just can't help but want to continue reading to find out who the actual murderer is. I really liked how she kept us on our toes, especially past the halfway mark of the book that's where all the twists and turns really began taking flight I think. The characters were also pretty fleshed out and I like how they were all pretty distinct. In the start it might be a bit confusing with so many members of the Leonides household and there's people outside of it too, but as you read more you grasp the idea of whose who and what possible "motive" one may have for murder.

I say this was such a holy shit moment for me bc maybe it could just be that I really am dumb but I really did not see the end coming. Everything came to make sense though, well played Agatha, well played... plus Charles was being played by the culprit too
