The House of Hades by Rick Riordan
5.0

After the biggest cliffhanger in Mark of Athena, I have to admit I was equal parts excited and terrified to go in the House of Hades. But nothing could have prepared me for the emotional roller coaster this book was gonna end up being. Everytime I get myself believing yes this is my favorite book in the series, the next one amazes me even more. But this one would be really hard to beat. The amazing character growth and the the absolutely awesome new side characters just won my heart over.

Percy and Annabeth are in tartarus and rest of our heroes trying to reach the House of Hades from the other side. Each hero gets their moment to shine and undergo significant character development. There journey gets difficult than ever with more and more formidable enemies. Along the way the heroes have to come in terms with their own doubts and insecurities, which I must say was dealt with spectacularly.

I can't pick up who was my favorite in this book. But if I had to then I would pick the most adorable titan Bob. And small Bob too. They were such good additions. So so good. I mean not just their characterisation but the questions they brought up? Are all monsters bad? Are all gods good? Delving more into the gray territory it added such a nice touch to the story. I am still in awe of that big guy.

Another honorable mention would be Nico. Omg I hope he gets more page time in the next book because I am obsessed with that guy. My heart goes out for him and all I want for him to find just a sliver of happiness. He has been so alone and felt like an outsider all the time, just for once give him something to be truly happy about.

I am so nervous moving to the last book now. So far this has been such an incredible series. I really want to read the last book asap but at the same time I don't want to let go off this series too.
