premise is solid. a bit weak on the character front... it kind of feels like everyone has the same character arc. arlen is the most compelling of the cast, though, followed by leesha (but her growth is rather stunted by how this author seems inclined to treat female characters). biggest drawback is that you can definitely tell that this is a Fantasy Book Written By A Man. iykyk.
