i really enjoyed the balance zimmerman struck with her analysis of the mythological characters in the book and relating them to her own personal life, as well as speaking to the larger experience of how women and people perceived as women are treated in north american society. i found so much of her writing incredibly poignant, and it was really refreshing to hear inclusive language throughout.
