Fighting Spirit
by Anna Harrison
Anna Harrison I will be suing for emotional damages, as this book sent me into an introspective spiral. In all reality - this book is REALLY cute. I loved the two main characters, and I felt like they both had depth in a way you don't always see in one-shot romances.
I think the real star of the show here is the personal storyline that Ruth undergoes throughout the book. It was absolutely heart-shattering to see her try to navigate a world that does not want to love her back. Her difficulty developing close friendships and her fears surrounding misreading social relationships really hit hard for me (read: emotional spiral), and I think the conclusion of her personal storyline was really important for others who have had the same experiences to read. It's realistic and honest in a way that I think some authors try to shy away from, because it doesn't feel immediately satisfying.
Absolutely devoured this book. A definite recommend for people who like silly meet-cutes, devoted MMCs and their less than perfect FMC's who they adore endlessly.
