Have you ever noticed when you are immersed in a different culture and truly engaged in it, you begin to speak and even feel like you belong to that culture? Indian Horse does this. I found myself feeling so connected to the main character, Saul Indian Horse, that some part of me has changed forever. Richard Wagamese has done it again...truly a brilliant book well deserving of all the accolades it is receiving. How does a book like this become required reading for high school students? It belongs there.
