Re-read - the book still holds up, I think the story could have been written with less POVs but considering how vast GRRM made the world and how many plotlines he's started, I understand why it would have been harder without splitting into different POVs.

I still adore Sansa, Bran and Jon - the idealists have my heart. I'm still trying to understand the mind of Daenerys and I know her character development rapidly moves forward in the later books, but in this one, she does have some controversial moments like with MMD and Drogo's actions. Also noticing the foreshadowing and layup for not only what happens in this book but this series is so incredible.

Also, I get that this is grim dark but some of the descriptions did not need to be that graphic to get the point and feeling across. And there are some sentences where you can clearly tell a man wrote it.
