First of all - thank you to NetGalley, TheNerdFam and the author for gifting me this book.
I am still getting over what I’ve just read. It’s written in two timelines and in both of them there are terrible things happening to the FCs.
Shanice is gifted a picture from her grandmother, but it would be better if she didn’t get it at all in her situation! So many greedy people are wanting in and the portrait of Essie has many secrets behind it.
As Shanice tries to unravel what had happened to Essie, someone is also trying to harm her and the people that know about the painting.
I knew since the beginning when Shanice met someone that he was a trouble.. I just got this feeling every time he was mentioned ..
The ending was amazing. The plot twists were really clever and interesting and the whole books sucked you in.
I shouldn’t have read it before bed, because now I am going to be up for ages… but I truly enjoyed it!
