Captive in the Dark by CJ Roberts
5.0
WOW just WOW
To be honest this book came up many times for me when I was looking for a book to read but every time I brushed it off because it seemed to dark and twisted for my liking, my thoughts were I don't want to spend an entire book hating a character. Boy was I ever wrong.
The first part of the book I felt guilty liking Caleb, I found myself liking him and then being reminded that even though he is nice to Olivia he has done this with many other girls. The thing with that is the writing is just that good, C.L Roberts does an amazing job setting you up to not only love but hate Caleb all at once and even root for him in his revenge journey.
I love Olivia's stubborn nature, its inspiring how no matter how scared she is she doesn't break easily as well as she understands when to turn it off and give in to survive.
The Characters start to build a small bond and to me their bond has a little "Beauty and the Beast" feel to it, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, we did watch the beast kill for bell and Caleb certainly kills for Olivia.
Also sadly a cliffhanger ending, but I guess since all the books are out I am not to sad about that, seems to be the only upside to my coming late to this book party.
