The Summer Proposal by Vi Keeland
4.0

Another TikTok hit but with such a cute premise. Georgia goes on a blind date, but finds out the first guy who comes up to her isn’t actually her blind date. When her actual blind date shows up, Max (the guy who pretended to be her blind date) offers her a ticket to a hockey game where she finds out he’s actually a hockey player! Not too much spice in this one, but a pretty good amount since there was an actual plot to this story. Georgia was actually only going on a blind date because she is in an open relationship with her fiancé. Max is moving at the end of the summer since he is trading hockey teams so they decide to embark on a summer of fun. There were a lot of cute points in this story, like Max’s dogs Four & Fred (which I wish there was more of). Georgia and Maggie’s relationship was hilarious. I loved Max’s relationship with his family and with Otto. I felt like what happened with Otto was super disappointing though - it felt like it didn’t give any closure or justice to the character, especially since he had such a huge part of Max becoming who he was. I also appreciated the little back story with Austin, Max’s brother, and the addition of Tegan mad the the story more complicated but it also was a little bit all over the place since we didn’t get any closure on that as well. Just a few minor details with open ended questions that were a little confusing/could’ve been a bit of a glance without taking away from the plot. Overall, I liked this story and I was happy when Georgia finally realized she deserved better than her ex-fiancé Gabriel. Great story and definitely different, really appreciated the little plot twists and turns.
