Plot or Character Driven: Character

This is a rather complative novel about art, friendship, attraction and motherhood. I find it hard to put words on this book, probably because, despite being mainly chronological, it consists in one long monologue addressed to "Jeffers", that sometimes abruptl  jumps from one topic to another. It is important for the narrator to tell this story to Jeffers, but why? This remains a mystery, hence the eery feeling we are left with.
