Death Cloud by Andy Lane

I am having a Holmes summer, so jumped at this rendition of what he may have been like as a teen. While still developing his computer-like observation skills and haughty manner, the author introduces us to him at age 14. He does suffer a ridiculous number of beatings which the author obviously has not as Holmes is up and running again in time for tea, but the mystery was entertaining and the friendships well-developed.
