To be blunt, neither of the main characters in this book were even redeemable enough to care what happens to them in book two. The meeting of the two characters was entirely too underwhelming, a deus ex machina meeting that seemed way too easy for all the lead up to that point. I found myself skimming over the exposition hoping that something would happen to tie everything together, but never found one. The ending was very abrupt as well.
